The thirty-eighth annual Delaware County Cross Country Championships were held on Saturday October 13, 2001 at Rose Tree Park, Media. Six hundred twenty five runners from twenty one Delaware County high schools registered for the event sponsored by the Delco Road Runners Club. Four hundred and nine finished the 3.1 mile course on a bright sunny day.

Cardinal O'Hara High School won the varsity boys' race with 35 points for the second consecutive year. Monsignor Bonner High School scored 75 points for second place and Strath Haven High School was third with 115 points.

Cardinal O'Hara High School won the varsity girls' race with 63 points. Haverford High School was second with 104 points and Strath Haven High School was third with 140 points.

The Girls' Junior Varsity Team Award went to Haverford High School with 34 points. The Boys' Junior Varsity Team Award went to Monsignor Bonner High School with a score of 27 points.
