The thirty-ninth annual Delaware County Cross Country Championships were held on Saturday October 12, 2002 at Rose Tree Park, Media. Six hundred thirty runners from twenty three Delaware County high schools registered for the event sponsored by the Delco Road Runners Club. Four hundred and sixty three finished the 3.1 mile course on a overcast day. A light rain fell during some of the events.

Cardinal O'Hara High School won the varsity boys' race with 32 points for the third consecutive year. Monsignor Bonner High School scored 75 points for second place and Penncrest High School was third with 131 points.

Cardinal O'Hara High School won the varsity girls' race with 34 points. Haverford High School was second with 100 points and Upper Darby High School was third with 134 points.

The Girls' Junior Varsity Team Award went to Haverford High School with 36 points. The Boys' Junior Varsity Team Award went to Monsignor Bonner High School with a score of 30 points.
